Welcome to the Loring PTO!

When your family joins the Loring School community, you become a part of the Loring PTO; a community of parents, teachers and school administrators joining together to enrich the educational and social experience of our students.

Parent involvement is critical to our success and there are a number of ways to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about the different opportunities available please email our co-chairs Anne Devine and Melissa Perla.

Loring-to-Loring Gift Card Drive

The Loring-to-Loring Gift Card Drive is a school-wide social action program designed to help Loring families who are experiencing financial difficulty.

Gift cards will be given to families for necessary items such as groceries and other essentials. Examples of retailers that have been helpful for families in the past are Target, Amazon, Walmart, Stop & Shop, Shaws, and CVS.

If you wish to contribute, please click here to sign up.

You can send your gift card(s) to school via red folder in an envelope labeled "Loring-to-Loring/Attn: Karen Blumberg".  Please send in your gift card(s) by Wednesday, December 4th.

Please contact Loring School Counselor, Karen Blumberg at karen_blumberg@sudbury.k12.ma.us or 978-579-0870 ext. 4011 with any questions or if your family would benefit from help through the Loring-to-Loring Gift Card Drive.

All inquiries and gift card distributions are kept confidential.

Thank you for your generosity!

Third Grade CE: Poetry In Motion

11/20/2024 5:35 pm

Last week, Loring's 3rd graders were treated with a visit by an Arts for Learning Massachusetts artist, David Zucker. Using music, costume changes, a few props, and a little old fashioned mime-ing, David painted wonderful pictures with classic children's poems and talked about how he likes to eat (memorize) his favorite poems. We are so thankful to David for sharing his favorite poems with us!

Your support of the PTO makes these programs possible - thank you!  Also, we are so grateful to our third grade creative enrichment coordinators, Lauren Pond Watts & Morgan Freiman, who worked with teachers to bring this program to Loring!

A big thanks to Ms. Corron and her class for heading up this pawsome drive and a huge thanks to all our adult volunteers that helped out! Thank you to Caroline Archambault, Cara Brill, Kate Carroll, Katie Dasso, Laura Warren, and Yan Zhang!

PTO Reimbursement Requests

11/20/2024 5:30 pm

HUGE thank you to all the parents and staff who have submitted reimbursement requests this year. We really appreciate all the hard work everyone is putting in! This is a friendly reminder from the PTO treasurers regarding reimbursement and check requests:

1. Please submit your receipts as either .pdf, .jpg or .png.
2. If at all possible, please consolidate your receipts into 1-3 documents so that you can submit one check request that combines multiple items. You can photograph multiple receipts at once or use this online tool to convert multiple jpg files to one pdf.
3. The forms work best from a personal computer or phone (beware of work firewalls).
4. Make sure to click "I'm finished with this form and am ready to submit it".
5. Please allow at least two weeks for your check to be mailed. If you need it sooner, please email treasurers@loringpto.org.

PTO: Join a Committee!

11/20/2024 5:29 pm

The PTO relies on volunteers to run successfully.  Many roles can be done primarily from home and all can be done on your own time.

Immediate Needs:

* Webmaster (open as of 12/31) - maintain website and update sales forms and signups in MTK as needed.

* Loring Eats Coordinator - coordinate with local restaurants to schedule "eat around town" nights for the Loring community and raise funds for PTO.

* Science Fair Committee - we have two chairs but need 1-2 more parents to help plan this pawsome annual expo where the kids showcase collections, experiments, and their science knowledge.

* Auction & PNO Committee - help make this parent night and fundraiser fresh and new!  We have chairs but need people to help plan and execute the event, solicit and collect auction donations, and be ready to take over as many of our longtime volunteers are soon to age out.

Upcoming Needs (Onboard now to shadow current volunteers):

* Camp Fair Coordinator - coordinate the PTO's 2nd largest fundraiser (and the only one that requires no funds from our parent/family community). Has support of Camp Fair team to break up responsibility; Coordinator role can be split between 2 people.

* Leopardfest Committee (multiple openings) - plan and execute our September back to school  celebration.  Our current team is aging out of Loring and we need new members to keep this event going.

Please email cochairs@loringpto.org for more info!
